Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. Your images and data stay on your device. We use Google Analytics to understand how pin maker is used, and we may display advertising via Google AdSense.
Information We Don't Collect
SmartPinMaker does not collect, store, or share any personal information. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your images, text, and designs never leave your device. There are no uploads to any server.
We have no accounts, no signup forms, and no email collection. What you create stays yours, completely private.
Who We Are (Data Controller)
For the purposes of data protection law, the data controller for the processing described in this policy is SmartPinMaker (smartpinmaker.com), an online-only web application operated from India. We have no physical office and therefore no postal address; for formal requests, privacy questions, or to exercise your data rights, please contact us at support@smartpinmaker.com. No VAT or tax identification number applies to this service.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your data is also protected by the GDPR (and, in the UK, the UK GDPR). If you are in Brazil, the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) applies to our processing. Regardless of where you are, this tool does not require an account and does not collect personal information from you directly.
Data Storage
The data stored locally in your browser's localStorage includes your theme preference (light/dark mode), your session data (uploaded images, custom fonts, logo, and pin configurations), and your cookie-consent choice. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
No data is stored on our servers because there are no servers involved in your use of pin maker. SmartPinMaker is a static web application, and we don't run a backend or database.
Legal Bases for Processing
Because the tool itself runs entirely in your browser, we rely on the following legal bases for the limited processing that does occur:
- Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); LGPD Art. 7, I): where you consent through the cookie banner, we process anonymized usage analytics and may, in the future, enable interest-based advertising.
- Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); LGPD Art. 7, IX): for maintaining and improving the site, and for security and abuse prevention.
- Strictly necessary storage (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)): your
localStoragepreferences are used solely to make the tool work on your device.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics, to understand how pin maker is used (page views, feature usage). Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data such as your browser type, device, and pages visited. No personal information or image data is sent. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
- Google Fonts, to load the site's typefaces.
- Google AdSense, for advertising. No advertisements are currently served on this site. We describe AdSense here because, if and when we add advertising in the future, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites — and that will always be gated behind your consent in the cookie banner.
These services may have their own privacy policies. Google Analytics processes data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
Cookies
Like most websites, we use small data files called "cookies" to improve your experience. Cookies help us remember your preferences (such as your theme choice), understand how visitors use the site, and (where you consent) deliver and measure advertising.
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you consent through the cookie banner — they are blocked by default. Outside those regions, anonymized analytics may run by default, and you can still decline advertising through the banner. Our tools also use localStorage in your browser for your theme preference and session data (uploaded images, custom fonts, logo, and pin configurations). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Advertising & Google Cookies
We do not currently run advertising. If we add advertising in the future, our advertising partner Google and its vendors may use cookies and similar technologies (including the Google/DoubleClick cookie) to serve and measure ads based on your browsing history and interests. Those cookies would allow Google and its partners to show you relevant ads on this site and across the web.
Any personalized advertising would always require separate consent, and you could opt out at any time:
- Adjust your preferences through the cookie consent banner on this site (change or withdraw consent at any time by clearing your site data or contacting us).
- Visit Google Ads Settings to manage or opt out of personalized ads.
- Visit AboutAds Choices or Your Online Choices to opt out of third-party vendors' personalized advertising.
If you do not consent (or withdraw consent), we would only serve non-personalized advertising, which is not based on your browsing history or profile. Because no ads run today, this section documents your protections in advance.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data. Where the GDPR applies (EEA, UK, Switzerland), those rights include:
- Access — the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — the right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — the right to ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — the right to ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Portability — the right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest or to direct marketing.
- Withdrawal of consent — the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month as required by GDPR. EEA, United Kingdom, and Swiss residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority — in the UK that is the ICO; in the EU it is the data protection authority of your member state; in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
California residents: where the CCPA/CPRA applies, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell, share, or trade your personal information, and we do not process your data for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today. You may still submit a request via the contact details below.
Brazilian residents: where the LGPD applies, you may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, portability, information about sharing, and withdrawal of your consent — the full list of LGPD rights under art. 18. To exercise any of them, use the contact details above.
Children's Privacy
SmartPinMaker does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (consistent with the US COPPA threshold), and under the GDPR children's consent across the EU varies from age 13 to 16. Since we collect no data at all, children can use pin maker safely without any risk of data collection. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
